Geraldine Arata >> Bio
Geraldine Arata After exploring many different mediums and expressions of art, my artistic discipline has taken the form of Representational Figurative Art in oils -specifically, the portrait. My previous body of work “ The Concept of Carnival” continues but has expanded to include“Gods & Goddesses”. I am drawn to the mystical, magical side of human nature. I see in history, legends and myths how the human spirit exceeds it's human limitations. Like the Old Masters of Westerner Civilization I like to make use of strong light's and dark’s to dramatize my artwork. My focal point is always the eyes “ the mirror to the soul.” I would like to think as you gaze into the painted eyes of my work that they are gazing into yours to make a strong exchange of the imagination and spirit that links us all. |
