Ben Hamburger >> Bio
Ben Hamburger I am an oil painter whose work draws inspiration from the people and places surrounding me. Born and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, I moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 2006 to attend Eckerd College. In 2008, I moved to Perugia, Italy to study art history and advance my painting skills at the Umbra Institute of Perugia before I returned to Eckerd, graduating with honors and receiving a B.A. in visual arts. I became an integral part of the arts community in St. Petersburg, participating in various group exhibitions and solo exhibitions as well as instructing painting classes at a local studio. I later moved to Asia where I continued painting and teaching in diverse settings in Bangkok, Thailand and later Gujarat, India. My experiences abroad influence my art and teaching methodology. Newly resettled in New Orleans, I continue to instruct, paint commissions and portraits, do mural work, and am eager to emerge as an artistic voice in the vibrant arts community. |
